It was a victory for a growing Kurdish nationalist movement, but the treaty failed and was never ratified. Turkey ended up renegotiating with the Allies, and in 1923 the revised Treaty of Lausanne abandoned plans for a self-governing Kurdistan. Rawanduz, a mesmerizing destination in Best Kurdish the stunning landscapes ofwel Iraqi Kurdistan is probably my favorite spot in Iraqi Kurdistan. I highly recommend to visit this place! (But as always in Iraqi Kurdistan, go with someone that knows the area, either a local or a guide.)
